No makeup, makeup look #bbloggers

Hi Guys,

So todays look is the no makeup makeup look. Ironic isn’t it. Anyways.. I’ve started wearing more makeup to work cause I figure I have so much of it and I need to use it up so I have been sticking to minimal makeup looks.

To create this look I primed with NYX HD Studio Photogenic Primer and then applied my Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Buff with my Real Techniques Brush from iHerb. As usual I applied my favourite Australis fresh and flawless powder and contoured using NARS Laguna. I filled in my brows with my new holy grail product, Gimme Brow by Benefit and applied a coat of mascara using Jordana’s  Best Lash Extreme Volumizing Mascara. Lastly, I applied my new favourite lipstick ever which I recently purchased when I was in the US, its the YSL lipstick in the shade Rose Lingerie.

Do you guys like this minimal makeup look I created?

Until next time..

Empties #1

Hi Guys,

So today I am doing my first empties post. When it comes to empty products I am really good at jus chucking stuff away fairly quickly so I never feel like I have enough products to do an empty post but alas these five products will have to do.

Bastille Dry Shampoo in Original – this product is a staple to me. I would use it every second day after washing my hair to just clean it up and make it non-greasy. Its safe to say this product is a lifesaver for girls all over the world. It can however be pricey for what it is so I always like to pick it up when Priceline is having a sale.

Would I repurchase? I sure will – not to mention I have two backups at home all ready to go.

Britney Spears Perfume in Radiance – this perfume I have legit had for three years. My mum bought it for me late 2010 at the airport on our way to Fiji (so thanks mum!). Not sure what the deal is with expiry dates for perfumes but this scent lasted the whole time and didn’t go off. It’s a beautiful sweet scent and was my staple perfume for a long time.

Would I repurchase? Probably not. Although I love this scent I am currently rocking a new one by Chloe. I like to mix it up with perfume and tend to not stick with the same one.

Napoleon Peridis Neo Noir Liquid Eyeliner – this is a beginners dream. It makes eyeliner so easy to apply and gives professional results. I had to throw out this product for more hygene reasons rather than there not still being any product left.

Would I repurchase? No – although this is a god sent product for beginners I have found an exact dupe by Essence which is now my new holy grail for eyeliner.

Australis Fresh and Flawless Powder – it’s no secret this product is well loved among the beauty community. Its an exact dupe for the MAC powder although I have never tried the MAC powder myself.

Would I repurchase? Confession time.. I already have six back ups of this one powder haha! Australis had a 50% off sale on Australia day so I stocked up!

Crème eyelash adhesive – This is just a standard eyelash adhesive. I did like the Cherry Blossom formula better but for $1 you can’t complain

Would I repurchase? Probably not. I think I will stick to buying the Cherry Blossom one in the future.

So there you had it, my first ever empities post. I love reading these posts! Did you enjoy my empties post?

Top 5 Lip Creams

Hi Guys,

So today I am posting about my top 5 lip creams or lip glosses that work like lipsticks (as you can tell I was unsure what to call this :P). I suppose it’s cause lip glosses that give a lipstick effect are relatively new. They are all the rage at the moment but if you look back a few years ago I’m pretty sure they just didn’t exist (correct me if I’m wrong :P). I love the idea of a lip cream. I struggle hard core when applying lipstick so the fact that makeup company’s have made it easier for us lipstick strugglers is great. Anyways, onto the top 5 I picked.

Image

(Left to right: Rimmel London’s Apocalips in Big Bang, Australis Veloulips in MALIBOO, NYX Soft Matter Lip Cream in Addis Abada, Rimmel London’s Apocalips in Luna and Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm)

I LOVEE all of these babies and wear them on a regular basis. I have done reviews on three out of the five I have picked to make sure you go and check them out too. But I just love these. Like I said, I’m not the best at applying lipstick, despite how hard I try. I always seem to overdraw and then my lips become uneven rah rah rah, probably all stem backs to primary school days when I just never learnt to colour in the lines properly lol! So yeh, these products have just made wearing colour on my lips that much easier.

Image

  • Rimmel London’s Apocalips in Big Bang – this is a super bright red shade that really packs the punch!
  • Australis Veloulips in MALIBOO – Australis really upted their game when it comes to lip products and this matte lip cream is no exception. The colour payout is the exact same as the packaging and I absolutely love this product, its a must buy!
  • NYX Soft Matter Lip Cream in Addis Abada – NYX has done it again! I am never disappointed with NYX products so its no surprise one of their lip matte creams made it into the top 5. Its a beautiful hot pink shade that’s perfect for a night out :)
  • Rimmel London’s Apocalips in Luna – This product is deceptively orange making this a lot bolder than the nude/peach I thought I had purchased. Never the less I love this product as orange colours always compliment blue eyes.
  • Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm – This one is a bit less pigmented than the others so if you want something subtle but still provides colour and shine then this if your baby. It also has a yummy minty taste to it so you’ll be applying it all day :)

What are your favourite lip matte creams?

Until next time..

FOTD/MOTD Lilac Lips by Sportgirl

Hi Guys,

This not so sunny Tuesday afternoon in Brisbane I am going to share with you a MOTD/FOTD from two weekends ago. For this look I wore simple black eyeliner and a lilac lipstick called Wanderlust by Sportgirl. As usual I used my favourite BB cream by Lioele, concealed using MAC’s prolongwear concealer in NW20, contoured using NARS Laguna and powdered using the Australis fresh and flawless powder

Yay or nay on these lilac lips?

MOTD/FOTD Pink and white smokey eye look

Hi Guys,

So its Monday morning so I thought I would share with you my MOTD/FOTD. I don’t usually wear makeup to work but I have started to wear makeup more recently cause I have so much makeup I need to use up before! So today I created a white/silver and pink smokey eye look with a corally/pink lip.

I used the Chi Chi nudes palette and the Napoleon Jet Set Palette for the eye shadow adding in eyeliner and mascara to complete the eyes. For the face I used my favourite BB cream by Lioele (link directs you to my review), MAC’s prolongwear concealer in NW20 and Australis fresh and flawless powder. To contour I used NARS Laguna (link directs you to my review) and for the lips I used a combination of Maybelline’s colour whisper sensation in Oh La Lilac and Sportsgirl’s lipstick in Fruit Tingle
