Winter Skincare Essentials

Hi Guys,

Winter is most definitely here. Lips are cracked, skin is dry and nothing beats a hot bath of a nightime. So today’s post will solely focus on beating the winter blues with the best products on the market to combat the colder season.

Firstly, an all over body moisturiser is ridiculously essential. I’m positive it’s not only me who’s legs get extremely dry and scaly over the colder months and that’s where Vaseline Intensive Care deep restore comes to the rescue. I use this Vaseline product religiously often applying it on a daily basis after my shower at night. It’s the best time to apply the product I find as it absorbs nicely into the skin leaving it soft and smooth. Another amazing thing about this product is its price tag as the 225ml lotion retails for $5.60 at your local Woolworths.

Another product I have been obsessed with this winter season is rose water sprays. As a person who’s skin is typically oily it sounds weird for me to be addicted to a hydrating spray but alas winter has changed my skin type and my once oil slick face is craving hydration. That’s where the Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist comes into play. I adore this rosewater spray, I have even transferred a small amount into a little travel bottle spray so I can carry it around with me anywhere and everywhere. Rosewater spray is great to apply anytime during the day to freshen you up and restore moisture to your skin. This product retails for $49 from Myer which is great for its 100ml size as a little goes a long way.

Face masks are one of my holy grail products over winter. Not only are they perfect as they allow you to feel relaxed and pampered but they are an essential way to restore moisture to the face. Sanctuary Spa’s Time Reversal Face Mask is my current favourite as its ultra collagen boosting treatment helps to firm, plump and restore. This product retails for $19.99 at Priceline and is an absolute steal for a face mask of this quality.

A product which I know we all need over winter to sooth those cracked lips is Nature Care’s Paw Paw Lip Balm. I’m not a huge fan of the Lucas’ Paw Paw ointment scent and texture and I find Nature Care’s version is amazing with a pleasant smell and consistency. It’s also Petrochemical free which means it doesn’t have that addictive ingredient most of the other lip balms do which mean they dry out your lips further. It retails for $3.29 at Priceline.

Bio-Oil is a well known company and rightly so with its oil proven to improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, uneven skin stones, ageing skin and dehydrated skin. I use this product all year around but even more in winter, focusing specifically on my super dry areas such as my hips, elbows and legs. This product retails for $14.99 for 60ml at your local Priceline.

Lastly, I wanted to mention a product which I carry around with me in my handbag everywhere in the winter months and that is my Premium Spa SOS hand cream. I have this in the scent ginger and orange and what seems like quite an odd scent mix actually smells delicious. This product is a staple in my handbag as I absolutely hateeeee dry/cracked hands. Priceline sells this baby for $6.99.
