So recently I attended The Doll Connection beauty blogger/vlogger event is Brisbane and as one does for these events, I glammed up. So today I wanted to show you how I created my look for the event as I got quite a few compliments throughout the day for my makeup.
First and foremost, I applied the Mecca 30+ sunscreen all over my face. After letting that settle into the skin I applied a pea size amount of the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer which I am on my third sample of from Mecca (I really need to commit to the purchase don’t I!?). Going in with my models prefer stipling brush I applied my Mac Studio Fix foundation in NW15 all over the face and blending down into my neck. After I was happy with the coverage, I applied the Mac Prolongwear Concealer under my eyes as an under eye highlight. I then set this all in place with my holy grail Australis Fresh and Flawless powder in the darkest shade as I had tanned the night before. Sidenote – I tanned two layers of the JBronze tan which is my absolute favourite and you can read a review here.
I wanted to keep the eyes fairly neutral so I applied Peach Smoothie by Makeup Geek in the crease and then applied In The Spotlight in my inner corner and over the lid. I applied a brown eyeliner by Mac in my top waterline and ran it half way through my bottom line to open up the eyes. For top eyeliner I used my trusty Essence black liquid liner. I applied a generous coating of mascara on my top and bottom lashes using the TooFaced Better Than Sex mascara. Now for the part I got numerous questions about throughout the day, the lashes. The lashes I wore are from Daiso and are a pack of three for $2.80 so legit less than $1 a pair. So crazy! To finish off the eye region, I filled my brows in with the usual ABH dip brow in Blonde using my Makeup Geek brow brush which is a new favourite.
For cheeks, I used my favourite NARS Laguna bronzer applying that to the typical contour spots and to highlight I used my one and only, Mac Soft and Gentle. I applied this on the tops of my cheeks, my cupids bow, the tip of my nose and my forehead as I was after a super glowy look.
Lastly, lips! Essence’s Satin Mauve was used to line my lips. I then filled my lips in with Mac’s Faux and used Pure Decoration as my highlight colour applying this to the centre of my lips to make them pop/look fuller.
So there you have it, how I created the look I wore to The Doll Connection. I absolutely loved the event and think the girls did an amazing job organising such a successful event.
Until next time..
