My current skincare routine

Hi Guys,

So today I am sharing with you my current skincare routine.
When it comes to skincare I generally don’t stray from my beloved products cause when something’s not broke why fix it right? So I have been using these products for at least a year now, and when I’m completely honest that’s how far back it was I decided to take care of my skin which is actually kinda bad but I’m into skincare now so I hopefully haven’t done too much damage to my skin before that! (Eep) I’ve never really had bad skin which is why I never used to do more than use a very basic cleanser in the morning and night. I now use a range of products to really look after my skin so here goes…

For an everyday cleanser I like to use Biore’s Pore Unclogging Scrub.I love a cleanser that has scrubbing beads in it as I love the feeling of the beads really getting under my skin and giving it a good clean so this is perfect for me. It’s not harsh so it’s the perfect everyday cleanser.

For when I’ve come back from a night out I like to use Michael Todd’s Honey and Oat Gentle Deep Pore Cleanser as I find this is the perfect cleanser for removing heavy makeup. This gem never fails to get rid of the darkest circles of run down mascara under my eyes. It’s such a gentle cleanser as well so it feels beautiful on the skin.

For what I can’t 100% get removed with my Michael Todd’s cleanser I like to use Lancôme’s Non Oily Instant Cleanser for sentiment eyes. I simply put a bit of this on a cotton bud and wipe under the eyes. It instantly gets any darkness left under the eyes and leaves me feeling instantly fresher!

Lastly, the only moisturizer I have found that doesn’t break me out and leave me oily is Olay’s Day Cream. This moisturizer is a god sent and I probably will never change. It just works, it’s as simple as that!

Beauty Joint Haul :) I have a confession..

Hi Guys,

I have a confession…. I am an online shopping addict and cannot control myself! I feel like there needs to be more support groups for this kind of thing haha!

But my downfall if your good luck as today I am bringing you a haul!

All these goodies were purchased from Beauty Joint which is an amazing online cosmetic retailer that ships internationally. This is where I like to get all my drugstore products like elf/NYX/KleanColor as its so much cheaper than it is in Australia (for NYX) and most of the other products are not even available for purchase here.

So onto what I picked up :)

One brand makeup look: ELF Cosmetics

Hi Guys,

So today I thought I would do a one branded makeup look. I picked ELF Cosmetics as I recently picked up a few more products and have enough to do a full face look :) ELF is probably the cheapest makeup brands I have come across that actually have decent products. ELF does have a number of hits and misses and despite the brands misses when ELF hits it hits hard!! A hit from ELF is their amazing eye brow kit which trumps anything I have ever tried. I am also a huge fan of their studio blush in peachy keen which leaves the softest peach glow on your cheeks. I pick up my ELF products from here or here

In reviewing the ELF products I do have to mention that I am still undecided how I feel about a few of the products as I haven’t used them long enough to form a full opinion on how they work for me. It was my first time using the liquid foundation and powder and I mean for a foundation that cost me $3 I can’t really complain but I found it did give me that sticky sunscreen feeling if that makes any sense (also the bottles pump came broken so that sucks as I had to open up the bottle and swipe it on the back of my hand which isnt very hygienic).. I found the powder did help with the shininess that the foundation left me but it definitely wasn’t a mattifying/full coverage powder. I tried the bronzer from the bronzer and blush duo as well for the first time and I had no idea it would be so pigmented and swept a lot more than I expected onto my face. Don’t you hate that?! I then used the Studio Blush in Peachy Keen which I absolutely adore. This is probably my favourite blush I have ever come across, such a beautiful colour! As usual I used the eyebrow kit and then used the waterproof eyeliner. Now this was interesting to work with as I think mine had dried out so it was a bit of a mission to apply. I finished up with mascara and I had to use my Jordana Extreme Lash Mascara as I didn’t own an ELF mascara (so nearly 100% elf haha).

Anyways, so there it is, did you enjoy this full branded makeup look? If so, what brand should I try next?

NYX Butter Gloss Review – My 100th Post :)

Hi Guys,

So todays post is my 100th post on my blog! Wow does time fly :) So for my 100th post I am bringing to you a review of NYX’s butter glosses.

I’m not the biggest gloss fan, if I wear anything on my lips it will definitely be a matte lipstick so I was blown away when I tried these glosses. Shaaanxo inspired me to pick a few of these up and once I tried a few I went back to buy more from the range.

Image

(Éclair, Meringue, Vanilla Crème Pie, Cherry Cheesecake, Peach Cobbler, Strawberry Parfait)

Firstly, they have a huge range of colours so a girl is bound to like at least one (or like me all of them) from the 12 shade collection.

Secondly, the sweet lolly/cake-like smell entices you to keep applying this bad boy all day.

Thirdly, the colour payout on these things is incredible, I’ve never (ever!) used a gloss that gives a true to its packaging colour payoff!

Fourthly, these are $5, that’s crazy, where else can one get such a good quality gloss for $5? Nowhere!!!

Now for swatches on my lips!

NYX have done an excellent job with their Butter Gloss range. They’re an affordable, buttery, moisturising gloss which provide the lips with a beautiful colour and glossy shine. My score 9/10!

Have you guys tried any from the NYX Butter Gloss range?

Beauty products that fly under the radar: Our hidden treasures

Hi Guys,

So we often give credit to brushes as the greatest beauty tools you can own but what about those ones we use constantly that just happen to fly under the radar?! Why I’m talking about those simple yet effective beauty tools such as cotton tips, lash curlers and tweezers. Now without these I would have nothing to aid me get rid of the dark bags under my eyes from mascara smudging, limp lashes and John Howard eye brows (Australian joke) But seriously let’s just take a moment to appreciate how awesome these tools are!

Cotton tips: I mostly use these to wipe off unwanted makeup when I make a mistake (which may I add quite frequently happens) I also use these when I apply falsies.

Image

Lash Curler: Now I wouldn’t say I use this everyday but if I want that extra umph in the lash department this is my go-to.

Image

Tweezers: Do I even need to explain to you where we would be without this magical tool! I like to keep to my natural brow shape so this just helps me pick up the stragglers growling wildly out of control.

What are your hidden treasure beauty tools? These are defiantly the top three for me!

How I make my blue eyes pop!!

Hi Guys,

One of the first things people notice about you is your eye colour which is why it is so important to make them stand out as much as possible. We all want to accentuate out best feature and with only 10% of the world’s population having blue eyes why not flaunt them!

A key to this is picking the right eye shadow. The trick to making blue eyes pop is using eye shadow from the opposite side of the colour wheel. The best colour to use would be orange but that’s just too bold for an everyday look so I like to stick to bronze, gold or copper colours. By creating a neutral smokey eye I can get the best colour payout from my eyes as these colours compliment them :)

Hope this was helpful :)
