Quick Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Hi Guys,

So today I am bringing you my last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas. If you are like me, and always leave everything to the last minute these are all things you should be able to pick up at your local Westfield.

Firstly, lets talk makeup! I have a few recommendations in this area, the Crème Puffed Pressed Powder by MaxFactor. I find that this is such an essential for every Mum. My Mum doesn’t wear makeup on a day to day basis but if shes going out for an occasion she does chuck on some powder so this is so perject for that. It also has, I feel bad saying this, but kind of a typical older lady scent! Which I like, but that’s just what it reminds me of. Also for makeup, I would include a lipgloss – this one is quite neutral but you could pick up something more colourful if you like. To finish off everything that you could pick up at Priceline or Big W/Kmart is the Sally Hansen nail polish.

Next stop is Myer/David Jones and here you can pick up a beautiful perfume for your Mum. My scent choice is Christian Dior’s Hypnotic Poison. Also, while your there grab yourself a candle. Mum’s loveeee smelly things, candles especially. The one I recommend (which I absolutely adore) is Peppermint Grove’s Oceania candle. Whilst this specific candle cannot be purchased at Myer/David Jones, it is definitely worth checking out their stockist and picking one up in a store that close to you. I have an absolute love affair with this candle and will have a review up of this candle and Peppermint Grove candles soon with a quirky idea which I think you may love so keep your eyes peeled.

Last stop at the shops is a trip to Target where you can pick up some gorgeous Mother’s day merch. I picked up the classic mug with a “Beautiful Mum” quote idea. Also, I picked up some “Home is where Mum is” tea towels. Cheesy, But I’m all about that.

These presents range from $5 to $150 so there is something that can fit in anyone’s budget!

Hope this helps some of y’all.

Until next time..

BOE Beauty Lipstick Review and Swatches

Hi Guys,

So BOE Beauty primarily started as a budget line of cosmetics sold at Big W with all products retailing for $2. Since then they have expanded and developed a BOE Professional range with foundations, BB creams, eyeshadow palettes, creamy lipsticks and more..

Today however, I am reviewing and swatching some of the lipsticks that are in the $2 BOE Beauty range and boy are they good bang for your buck.

(Top left to bottom right: PAIGE, V.I.P, Shocking Matte Pink, Primped matte lipstick)

I’m not going to lie, I held pretty low expectations for these lipsticks. I mean how good can a lipstick that’s $2 be? Uhmmm amazing apparently! I am so blown away by these lipsticks. These lipsticks are creamy and pack a punch in terms of pigmentation. They apply extremely well and have great staying power. The colours pack a certain wow-factor and are the perfect weekend/night on the town shades. I couldn’t believe how similar the shade V.I.P is to MAC’s Saint Germain.

I also like to dap a bit of the melon pigment by MAC on top of the shade Primped Matte for a bit more dimension (see below for picks).

Overall, these lipsticks are amazing value for money. Whilst their packaging isn’t fancy, for a $2 budget lipstick it’s impossible to find a fault with these babies. If you haven’t picked one up already you need to and can find these at your local Big W.

Expect to see more reviews of BOE Beauty products, so keep your eyes peeled!

Until next time..

Autumn/Winter Essentials

Hi Guys,

So today I wanted to share with you my autumn essentials as it is starting to get a bit cooler of a morning and at night. So my autumn essentials are…

LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub and Deliciously Skin Lip Salve in Peppermint and Vanilla* – These two are a match made in heaven. We all know as it gets cooler, our lips get dryer and crack easily. So its essential to regularly scrub the dead skin off the lips with the ever so delicious LUSH lipscrub and then hydrate and sooth the lips with the Deliciously Skin lip salve. I am soooo obsessed with this lip balm at the moment – it appeared in my monthly favourites and its now a staple in my handbag as I am always grabbing for it.

People for Plants Eye Cream* and Night Cream* – these two are also another perfect pairing. I discovered this organic skincare brand possibly just shy of a year ago and absolutely love their range. This night cream is life! It hydrates my skin and leaves me waking up with plump and elastic skin as of a morning. The eye cream hydrates my under eye area and overall these products have increased my skin tenfold.

Goatsmilk Moisturising Hand Cream* – With the dryer weather coming in, I know the first thing to chap besides my lips are my hands and let’s be honest, it’s painful. So it’s essential for me to carry a hand cream around in my handbag all autumn/winter long. Not only does this hand cream smell great, it soothes and moisturises my hands perfectly. A must have in my opinion.

Jojoba Botanical Hydrating Face Mask* – Even a typical oily/combination skin girl like me gets a bit dryer over winter so regular face masks are a must do. Especially a hydrating one like this one. It makes my skin feel soft, plump and hydrated which is exactly the goal.

So they are my autumn/winter essentials, I hope they are some of yours too or they have given you some inspiration.

Until next time..

Lip Product Addict Tag

Hi Guys,

So today I thought I would do a tag. I saw this on Shaaanxo’s Youtube channel yesterday and loved it so I wanted to do this for you guys so here goes..

1. What is your favourite balm or treatment?

I would have to say lip balm and my favourite is Nature’s Care Paw Paw Lip Balm. I have been using this religiously lately and I can’t get enough of it, I’ve nearly used the whole tube.

2. What is your favourite eye catching red?

Ehhh. Thing is, IMO I am one of those people who just doesn’t suit red lipstick or maybe I have just never found the perfect red so I am going to have to leave this one blank.

3. The best luxury and drugstore product?

My YSL Lipstick in Lingerie Pink is my holy grail and I don’t own anything better! Apparently its getting discontinued so  if you can get your hands on this baby you need to! Drugstore? Hmm probably the Revlon lipsticks. They are good quality but can be exxy if you don’t get them on a special.

4. Best MAC lipstick?

Hands down MAC Saint Germain and Candy Yum Yum (only owning three colours is beside the point but I did pick the best of the best!)

5. Most disappointing lip product?

Those with little pigmentation. I have a few random colours like black and gold and blue lipsticks which you really need them to pack the punch if you are going to pull them off. So it’s disappointing when they aren’t super pigmented as they are harder to work with. Also, as much as I love NYX black label lipsticks I am disappointed with their staying power. I’m also not a huge fan of the Savvy Ultra Matte Lip Stains. Whilst their colours are out of this world, they crack on the lips and wipe off fairly quickly.

6. Lipliner : yes or no?

I don’t use it but I want to start. I’m terrible with lipstick and even when I try to outline my lips I cannot draw in a straight line and it end up all ruined and wonky so I just stick to light colours where I don’t necessarily need a lip liner.

7. Favourite gloss?

Any of the NYX butter glosses. They are all phenomenal and taste like cupcakes and lollies. I need them all!

8. ..Something else?!

Sportsgirl and Australis lipsticks are underrated. I own multiple and they have all been fabulous and are all under $15. Pigmented and lush on the lips

So there you have it guys.. If you liked  this tag let me know and I will organise to do a few more! Have a lovely day!

Until next time..

March Favourites Vol#2

Hi Guys,

So today I am bringing you my March Favourites (I know I’m late, sowwwwweeee!) As per my new method of doing this I created last month I am going to show you my favourites in this format:

1 favourite Scent

2 favourite Lifestyle items

3 favourite Bloggers

4 favourite YouTuber’s

5 favourite Beauty Products

So for my favourite scent this month I am not choosing what I would classify as a traditional scent. Instead, I am choosing my body wash scrub atm as its basically my new scent. I smell like it all the time cause the scent stays with me during the day! I picked this one up for $4 and I love it, will definitely be repurchasing.

My two favourite lifestyle products for this month is set of Alex draws from Ikea and this little mirror mosaic bowl I bought at a market about a year ago. The set of Alex drawers from Ikea has been a godsent for me as it fits all my beauty items so I know where to find something when I am looking for it! Before it was a mad scramble in my room to find what I was looking for. My little mirror mosaic thing is jus so cute so I had to include it, its also where all the samples I am wanting to try are kept.

My top three bloggers for the month are Rebekah, Tahanna and Jade who is actually an instagram blogger which is awesome. Make sure you click on all their blogs and follow them cause they are amazing and awesome friends I have made through my IG account.

My favourite YouTuber’s of the month are Giovanna Belling, Casper Lee, Marcus Butler and Tanya Burr. This month was a mixture of beauty and random YouTube accounts but I love all of these guys and am a subscriber so may sure you check them out too :).

And now my favourite beauty picks for the month! I have picked MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick, Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation in 330, Essence’s Studio Nails XXL Nail Thickener, Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Mascara and Real Techniques Powder Brush.

I got MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick when I was in the US and it has since become by go-to clubbing lipstick – bright AND matte (perfection!), I picked up Maybelline’s Fit Me Foundation in 330 at the Priceline 40% off sale and I have been using this baby for cream contouring – lovvvvvvve it.  Essence’s Studio Nails XXL Nail Thickener has helped repair the poor condition of my nails due to lots of nail painting as of recent – I also use it as a base cost. I got given the Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Mascara and never really thought much of it when I first tried it but started using it recently when another mascara ran out and now I adore it. Its volumizes my lashes like crazy and make them look super long. Lastly the Real Techniques Powder Brush is now not only a favourite but a staple, this is the perfect all over face brush and I can’t say enough nice things about it!

Thats all for this month.

Until next time..

FOTD/MOTD Lilac Lips by Sportgirl

Hi Guys,

This not so sunny Tuesday afternoon in Brisbane I am going to share with you a MOTD/FOTD from two weekends ago. For this look I wore simple black eyeliner and a lilac lipstick called Wanderlust by Sportgirl. As usual I used my favourite BB cream by Lioele, concealed using MAC’s prolongwear concealer in NW20, contoured using NARS Laguna and powdered using the Australis fresh and flawless powder

Yay or nay on these lilac lips?

Until next time..
