I had the pleasure of doing my little sister’s makeup for her graduation. When she asked me to do her makeup I was mortified. Although I am fairly good as doing my own makeup, I find it absolutely terrifying to do another persons. Its a completely different ball game am I right? Different skin, different shaped eyes etc. So we did a practice run and she was happy with it and gave me the go ahead for the special day and this was the look I created.
I used a full coverage foundation and created a natural smokey eye using the Naked 2 palette. What are your thoughts on the look I created?

Just wanted to share with you my favorite spring makeup look. This is what I wore to work and I kid you not I got about 5 compliments on my look. I don’t usually wear makeup to work, especially lipstick so it was nice to wear a bold lip for once. I kept this look nice and fresh and didn’t layer my foundation too thick, instead I used a BB cream and powder to give off a spring glow. I paid this makeup with a bold necklace to brighten up the outfit :)
Over the weekend I went put clubbing for my birthday and wanted to share my top 3 tips for clubbing proof makeup
1. Prime that face
I just find this helps your makeup to stick on and last the whole night so don’t miss this step.
2. Powder up
I find applying two layers of powder really sets my foundation. Tip though, after that don’t powder again. You don’t want to end up cakey and if you go and reapply in the bathroom this is bound to happen.
3. Falsie it up
There’s not a better time than going out for you to doll up and apply some falsies. :)
I used Loz Curtis’ prom makeup tutorial for my look :)
What have been your favourite products this month?
Side note. As many of you know I am a Sigma Affiliate. So don’t forget to head on over to Sigma and grab yourself some amazing brushes! I promise you wont regret it. You can also use code “LJW2013″ to get 10% off at the checkout :)
Ok, I might not even get away with calling this “My Everyday Makeup Routine”.. Because I don’t consider this makeup?
Basically, for my everyday routine, I don’t wear foundation. All I wear is my Olay Moisturizer (normal skin), Rimmel London Scandalous Mascara and a nude coloured lipstick/lipgloss. (Side note: This is during the working week from Monday to Friday. On the weekend makeup routine is a whole other story!)
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I don’t love makeup. Its more that my skin hates makeup.. I would say I have combination/oily skin so any makeup on my skin for longer then a few hours just causes it to go shiny and then as a result I break out in pimples the following day. Even after all the foundations I have tried I am still yet to find the perfect everyday foundation that doesn’t cause me to breakout in pimples (although Lioele’s BB cream and Revlon colorstay actually do a really great job).
Not only that. I have to admit, I am pretty lazy. To put foundation on every morning would just mean less sleep and I love my sleep too much haha!
Anyways, here’s how it usually looks. I never usually post photos of myself without makeup just because I hate the unevenness of my skin.. but anyways, here goes..
I wanted to try something new and do an Outfit Of The Day post. So bare with me if this seems a bit dodgy as it is my first attempt :) So todays outfit is what I am wearing to work for casual Friday. So usually everyone wear jeans and a nice top – so this is the look I created.
So last night I went out for Thursday night shopping with a friend and we found ourselves in Priceline. Not even kidding we would have been there for like an hour so I just wanted to share quickly the products I got.
Firstly, I got the L’Oreal true match foundation because I had heard so many beauty guru’s on YouTube rave about it. I put it on this morning and so far so good. It is very light on the skin but the coverage isn’t as good and I hoped. (Side note: if you were wondering I got shade W2 and it was $24.33 on sale)
Secondly, I picked up eyebrow gel. Never used a product before so it was weird when I first applied it but I definitely like it.
Thirdly, I got an essence lip gloss. Its a nice nude colour so I cant wait to try it out.
I also got three amazing nail polishes. I swear I have way too many but they were only $2.75 and they look so fresh and bright so how could I refuse.
Last but not least,I got a Manicare blending brush. Haven’t used this one yet so cant wait to see what its like!
