Napoleon Perdis Spotlight and a review of RY.COM.AU

Hi Guys,

So today I am reviewing a few Napoleon Perdis products I received from They are the China Doll Foundation in Look 2, Camera Finish Powder Foundation in Beige Beauty and a Mattetastic Lipstick in Grace.

First of all, let me just start by saying, Napoleon Perdis was the first “high end” brand I ever purchased makeup from. Ive been a Napoleon Perdis fan since I was a wee teenie bopper and used to get my makeup there for events such as formals and parties and have many loved products from the range. They are an Aussie brand who produce amazing quality products. They have some of the best makeup artists working for their company too and I don’t think there was a time I ever left a Napoleon station dissatisfied.

Anyways, enough of me raving about the company and onto the review.. I have actually used two of the three products sent to me. It is my second tube of the China Doll Foundation and my third of the Camera Finish Powder. I absolutely adore the camera finish powder. Its high coverage and also a great compact to take with you on any occasion.  It’s packaging is to die for and while I wouldn’t usually lash out $70 for a powder anymore with such amazing affordable dupes on the market I do love this powder and have no faults in the product itself.

I hate to say this, but I have to be honest – I didn’t like the China Doll foundation. It actually appeared in a ‘products I regret buying’ post I did back in June last year. Now don’t get me wrong here, just because it didn’t work for me, doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. I just found it really hard to blend no matter what type of way I tried to apply it. Also for the size of the product you get I don’t think it’s worth the money. They have improved their packaging since I last bought the china doll foundation but no this wasn’t a hit for me.

The last product I want to mention is the Mattetastic Lipstick in Grace. Now this product was definitely a hit for me. It’s a beautiful dark nude shade or is it too dark to be a dark nude ? haha I don’t know. Anyways, this lipstick is gorgeous. Super wearable and an everyday shade in my opinion which is great for work. This was definitely my favourite out of the whole lot.

Now only a quick review of which stands for Recreate Yourself. is an Australian online website which specialises in beauty products. They offer free shipping over $99 and I was able to test the service of the company and they are just fabulous. My transaction was handled smoothly and I was updated as every stage in my order. The website packages their products securely so items aren’t broken and every order also comes with free samples and lets be honest, who doesn’t love free samples. I am so glad to have discovered and will definitely be looking forward to making many more orders with them. They also have the Kardashian collection hair products launching on their website soon so definitely keep an eye out, I know I will be! You can find their website here.

Until next time.,

Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lipstick (Rose) Review

Hi Guys,

So today I have a review for you and I am super excited as this product is fantastic. It’s the Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lipstick in Rose.

This product is amazing, it oozes luxury and delivers on just that. ‘Rose’ is one of the new shades Laura Mercier has released. It’s a reddy coral shade and it looks flawless on the lips with its high pigmentation meaning it’s a one swipe lipstick. I love that this lipstick is so pigmented and I don’t need to apply a multitude of layers to get the colour right.

It’s a creamy lipstick, however, unlike most creamy lipsticks, this doesn’t fly off the lips or move around easily. This lipsticks stays put and its also very moisturising. It kind of doubles as a lipbalm and lipstick which is great value for money! There is one thing which may turn a few people away from this lipstick and that is that it doesn’t have a matte finish. However, if you wanted to get a matte finish I suggest just dabbing the lips with powder. The wear life on this product is amazing. I have tested it over a 10 hour working day and only had to touch up once which is incredible. The packaging screams luxury and exclusivity. Its sleek packaging is sturdy and not flimsy like some lipstick packaging.

Me applying the gorgeous lipstick

This product retails for $35AUD and I think that’s an extremely fair price for the quality of product you receive. Will definitely be picking up more colours from the range.

Swatches of ‘Rose’

Overall, I rate this product highly and if the other colours from the range are as gorgeous as ‘Rose’ I may just have to buy the whole collection.

Until next time..

March Monthly Favourites

Hi Guys,

So today I am back with another monthly favourites and boy do I have a few for you this month. So keep reading if you want to see why these products made it into my monthly favourites.

photo 3 (1) photo 3

Lorac Pro Palette – I’ve had this palette for a while now but only recently have I started using it more frequently and really gotten into it. The taupe shade is the perfect crease colour and those shimmers shades add depth to any look. The palette consists of eight matte shades and eight shimmer shades. I don’t know why I didn’t get more into this palette sooner and look forward to creating more looks with this palette. Leave me a comment below if you would like to see me create a look using this palette. Find yours here.

Too Faced La Belle Carousel Blush and Bronzer Duo – I got the Too Faced carousel for my 21st and I have absolutely been loving the blush and bronzer duo component. It features the ‘Chocolate Soleil’ bronzer and ‘Who’s your poppy?’ blush. The reason I love this duo is because not only are the shades perfect but it’s extremely portable.

MAC Lipstick in Pure Decoration – It’s funny to think that a mascara I picked up accidently would become an absolute favourite. I picked this up at the corporate shop in west end thinking that it was pure heroin when in fact it was pure decoration. Its such a beautiful nude shade, perfect for when you have a lot going on with the eyes and you just want a simple shade on the lips. Find yours here.

Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara – Where to start with this one. LOVEEEE it! If you haven’t already please check out my full review here to find out exactly why I love this mascara. It has been brilliant and I don’t think there’s been a day go past since I got this mascara that I havn’t been wearing it. Find yours here.

Deliciously Skin Peppermint and Vanilla Lip Salve – When a PR company contacted me wanting to send me a range of vegan skincare I jumped at the opportunity as I LOVE organic skincare which isn’t full of chemicals and is good for your skin. I’m not a huge fan of paw paw ointment like most people mostly because of the smell so I was delighted to find a great smelling, highly moisturising lip treatment. If you are into vegan skincare, love a good lip treatment and adore the smell of peppermint and vanilla go and get your hands on this lip salve today. Find yours here.

Real Techniques Limited Edition Duo-Fiber Powder Brush – This brush is amazing! Not only does it look amazing with its black and chrome finish, this brush actually works wonders. It provides an amazing finish, kind of like an airbrush finish. What did I do before this?! I don’t even know. It comes in a limited edition set which makes it a bit hard if you only want the one brush which sucks but the whole set is amazing! Find yours here.

Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo – From a yellow blonde to silver hair? That is what this amazing toning shampoo by Fudge gives me. Leave it in your hair for a good 10-15 minutes and watch your hair transform with this shampoo removing all yellow, bronzy tinges. Find yours here.

Premium Spa Australia Sugar Body Scrub in Frangipani and Coconut – If these were to be any time I could transfer smell between my computer screen and yours this would be it. THIS. SMELLS. AMAZING! Like wow, I need a candle in this scent – it is to die for. And what’s better is that this scrub is amazing and you only need a tiny bit to get a whole lot of use. Find yours here.

Tangle Teaze – I don’t know what I did before this. Well actually I do. I had A LOT of hair fallout and breakage and now I don’t. You can use this brush when wet or dry and it’s the perfect brush to reduce hair fallout. I have hung up my paddle brush for life now I have found this. If you haven’t got one of these already go and get one and see the difference for yourself. Find yours here.

And there we have it. My March Monthly Favourites. I hope you guys enjoyed this and you too share some of these favourites with me.

Until next time..

Benefit Roller Lash Review

Hi Guys,

So recently I was lucky enough to go to a Brisbane blogging event in Brisbane called Obsession where Benefit came along and did their first Australian launch demonstration of their new hit product called the Roller Lash. I was extremely honoured to be apart of something like this and the passion the benefit ladies has just blows me away. Anyways, so I just had to review this mascara for you before it launches in Australian stores on April 11.

You know how some of us have to use a lash curler before applying our mascara? Well no more! This mascara boasts of giving a curled lash effect and my results below are a true testament this mascara does just that. The “Hook ‘n Roll” brush grabs the lashes, separates them and adds lift and curl. I also love the curve setting formula as I find that the sticky formula really does help the mascara to set in place once it has been curled. The only risk that the sticky mascara formula runs is it may possibly become quite clumpy if you overdo it on the lashes too much so be careful not to layer too much – not that you need to anyways.

You know those tiny little lashes right on the inner corner of our eye which are a nightmare to grab? Well this mascara is those little tiny hairs best friend. This mascara wand is a lot smaller than their previous mascara brushes which gives it the ability to get right in there in and coat those bad boys in this glorious formula.

You know how your mascara often rolls off your benchtop? Well Benefits Roller Lash stops this altogether as the rubber end of the packing ensures that baby wont budge from the benchtop. Did I mention how adorably cute the package is also? Love it, and lets be honest, who doesn’t love super cute packaging.

You know how mascara can sometimes get clumpy when there’s too much formula on the brush? Well the Benefit Roller Lash combats that product overload issue with the built in wand wiper which evenly distributes the perfect amount of product on the mascara wand.

So should the Benefit Roller Lash be next on your wish list? Yes, yes and yes! Not only does this mascara curl those lashes, it also lengthens, separates and adds volume. I love the sticky formula as I find it holds the lashes in place which is also perfect as there is no flaking or smudging. I tried They’re Real and Roller Lash together and they are a match made in heaven and provide the perfect lash. Benefit is an innovative successful company and I absolutely love their new invention – the Roller Lash.

This product launches in Australia on April 11 so make sure to be there to grab yours, love it!

Until next time..

NYX Black Label Review

Hi Guys,

So today I wanted to show a few swatches and mini review of one of my favourite lipstick brands – NYX. I own four shades from the black label lipstick collection – India, Cancun Pink, Nude and Citrine. The lipsticks are not only super pigmented they are super creamy and glide on perfectly.

These affordable lipsticks retail for $13 on an Australian online cosmetic store or I picked mine up from Beauty Joint for $5. There colour range is extensive and the quality you get for a fraction of the price you would pay for a high end lipstick is incredible. NYX continues to make amazing affordable drug store products and sometimes us beauty bloggers get caught up in the hype that surrounds high end products and forget their old and trusty basics. Well no more, back to using good quality cheap alternatives.

The only thing that concerns me is their lasting power – they are super creamy which makes them susceptible to sliding around the lips and gliding off easier than say the amplified formula by MAC. However, if you are after getting the bang for your buck then NYX black label are definitely the way to go. They also smell A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Overall, these lipsticks are incredible and I highly recommend them.

Until next time..
