My In flight Travel Essentials for Long Haul Flights

Hi Guys,

Following on from my ‘what’s in my travel makeup bag’, I wanted to do a post on what are my inflight liquid essentials plus are few over miscellaneous items. So here I basically downsized a lot of creams and hydrating sprays I use to the 100ml limit that international flights have. I watches a tonne of YouTube videos on what to bring beauty wise for international long haul flights as I want my skin to remain as healthy and hydrated as possible. So here is what I took in flight with me. (Sidenote: If you have any questions are what some products are ask me in the comments and I will do my best to get back to you with full product names and details) (more…)

Autumn/Winter Essentials

Hi Guys,

So today I wanted to share with you my autumn essentials as it is starting to get a bit cooler of a morning and at night. So my autumn essentials are…

LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub and Deliciously Skin Lip Salve in Peppermint and Vanilla* – These two are a match made in heaven. We all know as it gets cooler, our lips get dryer and crack easily. So its essential to regularly scrub the dead skin off the lips with the ever so delicious LUSH lipscrub and then hydrate and sooth the lips with the Deliciously Skin lip salve. I am soooo obsessed with this lip balm at the moment – it appeared in my monthly favourites and its now a staple in my handbag as I am always grabbing for it.

People for Plants Eye Cream* and Night Cream* – these two are also another perfect pairing. I discovered this organic skincare brand possibly just shy of a year ago and absolutely love their range. This night cream is life! It hydrates my skin and leaves me waking up with plump and elastic skin as of a morning. The eye cream hydrates my under eye area and overall these products have increased my skin tenfold.

Goatsmilk Moisturising Hand Cream* – With the dryer weather coming in, I know the first thing to chap besides my lips are my hands and let’s be honest, it’s painful. So it’s essential for me to carry a hand cream around in my handbag all autumn/winter long. Not only does this hand cream smell great, it soothes and moisturises my hands perfectly. A must have in my opinion.

Jojoba Botanical Hydrating Face Mask* – Even a typical oily/combination skin girl like me gets a bit dryer over winter so regular face masks are a must do. Especially a hydrating one like this one. It makes my skin feel soft, plump and hydrated which is exactly the goal.

So they are my autumn/winter essentials, I hope they are some of yours too or they have given you some inspiration.

Until next time..

Olay Skincare Review

Hi Guys,

Olay is that trusted skin care brand. Your Mum probably used it, your Nana and Grandma have probably used it too. When it comes to putting products on your face, you want to be using products you can trust. For me, it’s almost like I would be surprised to try something from Olay I didn’t like. Which leaves my expectations for their range rather high but never fear, my expectations are always met and often exceeded. The three products I am reviewing today are the Olay Total Effects Daily Serum, Complete UV Max Defence Lotion Sensitive SPF 30 and Total Effects Moisturiser Normal SPF 15. So lets jump straight into the review..

Total Effects Daily Serum* – Having never used a serum before I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. This product is great at softening my skin leaving it smooth and hydrated. The packaging offers good control and while it’s not amazingly pretty (of which you don’t expect) its practical. I put this serum on just before bed so not sure how it layers with makeup but it does layer nicely under my night time moisturiser. It applies well on the skin and leaves a beautiful pleasant scent behind. If you are after a resonantly cheap serum – this is your go to. You can pick yours up for $34.99 here  or at your local Priceline.

Complete UV Max Defence Lotion Sensitive SPF 30* – This product is brilliant. Its high SPF 30 means you are protected from damaging UV rays. It may just be me but being brought up at the beach, I was always smothered in sunscreen and as a result love the smell so it on my skin. So the soft smell on sunscreen in this product reminds me of ‘the good ol days’. Its also the first high SPF moisturiser  I have found which doesn’t clog more pores so well done Olay. I recommend this for everyday use and what’s better is its cheap too at only $15. You can pick yours up for $14.99 here or at your local Priceline.

Total Effects Moisturiser Normal SPF 15* – I think I am only my third or fourth bottle of this stuff. It’s amazing. I love it – it makes my skin feel hydrated and tight. It also has a really nice smell so I love lathering it on in the morning. It works well with makeup too which is really what we all want to hear! It just works and I will probably continue to use this day cream for the rest of my life. You can pick yours up for $29.99 here or at your local Priceline.

So there is my review of a few Olay products out there at the moment. Have you tried any of these and if so, thoughts?

Until next time..

People for Plants Skincare Review

Hi Guys,

Today I will be reviewing a few products from the People for Plants skincare range which were kindly sent to me. Being new to skin care I had this misconceived idea of how my skin was and basically that was as good as it was going to get. WRONG! Believe it or not your skin can get better. My flawed idea that skincare only maintained your skin current condition and assisted with the ageing process was so misconstrued. Using skin care products actually makes your skin better whilst aiding the ageing process. My skin now feels hydrated and my redness in my cheeks has decreased significantly. So today I bring you the range which has opened my eyes completely and whats best about these products is that they are made with certified organic and natural ingredients. Which to be honest never used to be a concern for me, knowing little about skincare, but why wouldn’t you want to use organic products on your face. People for Plants pride their products on being free from parabens, sulphates, artificial colours, synthetic fragrances etc (see the full list here). So let’s jump straight into the review..

Pomegranate, Burdock and Shea Night Cream

If you follow my blog you would have seen this baby in my monthly favourites so I am super excited to review it for you. Prior to using this night cream I was using the Sukin night cream which is amazing but having this product in a tube rather than in a tub had me reaching for the people for plants night cream more often. At night time you are tired and want something which is easy to apply that you can just slap on your face after jumping out of the shower and this product provided me that ease. The pomegranate and vitamin c rich product allows your skin to restore overnight leaving it feeling supple and hydrated in the morning.  You can pick yours up for $29.95 here or at your local Priceline.

Kakadu Plum, Calendula and Chamomile Eye Cream

I am sure I am not alone when I say I have very irritable/soft skin around my eyes. This makes me very hesitant to apply any kind of product around my area (even a soft cleanse can send my eyes into a burning/stinging hot mess!). I have applied other branded eye creams before (namely the Estee Lauder one – and had to take it off straight away as it made my eyes water/sting). So you can appreciate why I was reluctant to use any eye creams. However, I mustered up the courage and boy am I glad I did. This product is so soft on the skin and doesn’t irritate my eyes at all. It leaves my under eyes feeling hydrated and awake. If you are like me and struggle to find eye creams that don’t irritate your eye area this product is definitely for you!  You can pick yours up for $19.95 here or at your local Priceline.

Argan, Pomegranate and Milk Thistle Face Oil

I use three to four droplets of this baby before I use the night cream almost every night. You’d expect to put this on and feel like a grease ball but that isn’t the case at all, its light in texture and absorbs almost instantly. This paired with the night cream and eye cream is a match made in heaven. This product helps stimulate the production of collagen and helps strength skin cells whilst soothing and nourishing them. As mentioned before a combination of all three of the products has helped my skin feel more hydrated and elastic but most notably reduced the redness in my cheeks by a good 50% at least. You can pick yours up for $29.95 here or at your local Priceline.

I cannot wait to try more products from the People for Plants range. This brand produces reliable, high quality affordable organic skin care. Please support an amazing Aussie brand by checking out their full product range here.
